To further advance the building of Chemistry as a provincial first-class discipline, the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering signed an agreement with Jiangxi Jing'an High-Tech Co., Ltd. on the morning of 31 May to jointly recruit and train postdoctoral researchers, and held a school-enterprise cooperation seminar in meeting room 5510 of the Fangyin Building. Professor Chen Yiwang, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee and head of the Chemistry discipline, attended and spoke. Also present were Chen Jun, Director of the University Human Resources Office and of the Postdoctoral Management Office; Wu Xingen, Dean of the Research Institute and Chief Engineer of Jiangxi Jing'an High-Tech; Ning Haijin, Chairman of Jiangxi KingPowder Technology Co., Ltd.; Professor Zhong Shengliang, Executive Dean of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering; and responsible colleagues from the Postdoctoral Management Office and Jing'an High-Tech together with the school's leadership team and faculty representatives. The meeting was chaired by Wang Yixi, Secretary of the School Party Committee.

Professor Chen Yiwang welcomed the representatives of Jiangxi Jing'an High-Tech and Jiangxi KingPowder Technology. He outlined how the Chemistry discipline has developed in recent years, in particular the priority work carried out and the notable results achieved since it was selected into the provincial 14th Five-Year Plan first-class discipline programme as a peak-advantage discipline. He noted that university (institute)-enterprise cooperation is an important part of implementing national reform and development in higher education, and of the provincial government's requirement that technology be applied locally and research be carried out locally. It is an effective route for the school to advance the industry-education integration model and the reform of talent training, to strengthen the overall strength of the discipline and to improve its capacity to serve local economic development, and it is an important measure and a practical need for the school and enterprises to achieve mutual benefit. The university's Chemistry discipline already has successful cases and outstanding achievements in school-enterprise cooperation, and this remains a continuing goal of discipline development. He stressed that joint postdoctoral training between the university (institute) and enterprises is a new form of cooperation, an important platform for talent training and practice, and an organic combination of industry, academia and research. This tripartite agreement marks a solid step forward in cooperation between the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and Jing'an High-Tech. He asked both parties, in the spirit of complementary strengths, shared resources, mutual benefit and common development, to take joint recruitment and training of postdoctoral researchers as the starting point, to further integrate their advantageous resources, build new platforms and inject new momentum, to promote complementarity between disciplinary and resource strengths, broaden the scope of cooperation, deepen the forms of cooperation, and advance academic research so that the cooperation bears fruit. He expressed the hope that Dr Wang Lei would settle into his work at the company's postdoctoral station with peace of mind and full focus, apply what he has learned to the company's actual R&D work in both professional and practical research, and strive for early results and substantial results, so that both sides benefit.

Chen Jun, Zhong Shengliang and Wu Xingen signed the agreement on behalf of the university, the school and the company. Wang Yixi said the school will assign outstanding cooperative supervisors and recommend excellent doctoral graduates to carry out postdoctoral research at the company, give play to the school's research platforms and the company's strengths in industrialising research results, strengthen the training of postdoctoral researchers in science and technology innovation, encourage them to start businesses and innovate, and help the two sides complement each other and achieve shared success. Wu Xingen briefly introduced Jiangxi Jing'an High-Tech and stated the company's commitment to increasing support for the postdoctoral workstation and for Dr Wang Lei's research there, and to strengthening all-round cooperation with the university and the school.

After the signing ceremony, faculty representatives held discussions with Jiangxi Jing'an High-Tech and Jiangxi KingPowder Technology on jointly building the postdoctoral workstation, co-training incoming doctoral researchers with cooperative supervisors, student internships, incubating research results, technical consulting services and patent transfer, reaching a number of points of consensus.
